Souda is the great natural port of West Crete, just 5 km from the center of Chania. As the ship enters the bay of Souda, on your right the Venetian fort of Forteza welcomes your, built on the isle of Souda in 1583. Exactly across the bayyou’re your left, stands the Idjedin fortress, built by the Ottomans in 1872. As you leave the fortifications that stood watch over the port’s entrance for centuries behind you, the amphitheatrical town of Souda emerges nested on the mountainside.

After you disembark from the ship, you follow the main road to Chania for 3 km and you reach SEAMETRY APARTMENTS. Our lodge is located in a beautiful, quiet overlook with a panoramic view to the Cretan Archipelago, where you can enjoy the majestic sunrise every morning.

If you are traveling by airplane, the International Airport of Chania is just 11 km away from our lodge.

The island’s history engulfs your senses immediately, the moment you reach Souda. Located in a short distance all around the town, you can visit the archaeological site of Aptera, the Venetian and Ottoman fortresses overlooking the bay of Souda, as well as the Allied World War II cemetery.

At a distance of 3 km from our lodge, there is the historical house – museum of Eleftherios Venizelos, as well as the church of Agioi Anargiroi which dates back to the 13th century A.D. Also, at a distance of 3,5 km you will find the bustling square of General Janakakis and the great Municipal Market of Chania.

5 km to the west lies the stunning center of Chania, with its picturesque Venetian port, its Nautical Museum, its labyrinthine alleys of the historical Old Town, its shops, its restaurants, as well as its bars and clubs where the heart of Chania’s night life beats.

The great peninsula Akrotiri begins to the north of Souda, where you will find the renowned beaches of Chania; Stavros,Tersanas, Chalathas, Shaitan Limania, Marathi, Loutraki, as well as many historical monuments and sites.

To the south extends the fertile land of Apokoronas until the foothills of the Lefka Ori mountains, where you can visit enchanting traditional villages, Kourna – the only natural lake of Chania, and some of the most well known seaside destinations
